Leading Ladies Lunch: Evolving the Way Women Lead

Verity Consulting Partners recently hosted its Leading Ladies Lunch, bringing together an inspiring group of businesswomen, leaders and professionals for an afternoon of meaningful conversation, connection and shared perspective.

Held at Cloudland in Brisbane, the event centred on the theme
“Evolving the way women lead: less perfect. more powerful.” It created space for an honest and practical discussion about leadership, confidence, growth and the expectations many women continue to navigate in business and professional environments.

A Conversation About Real Leadership

Leading ladies Lunch

The Leading Ladies Lunch was designed to move beyond surface-level networking and create a setting where women could engage in thoughtful conversation about what leadership looks like today.

The discussion explored the pressure many women feel to lead perfectly, communicate flawlessly and consistently meet high expectations across both professional and personal responsibilities. The theme invited guests to consider a different approach, one focused less on perfection and more on clarity, confidence, authenticity and impact.

Throughout the lunch, the conversation highlighted that strong leadership does not require having every answer. Instead, it often comes from being willing to step forward, make decisions, ask better questions and remain open to growth.

Guided by an Engaging MC and Experienced Panellists

The event was hosted by Demelza Fellowes, who brought warmth, professionalism and thoughtful energy to the afternoon as MC.

Guests also heard from an accomplished panel of women in business and leadership, including Michelle O’Hara, Founder of Connection Central, and Lana Hill, Founder and Director of WHD Marketing.

Together, the panel shared honest reflections on their own leadership journeys, including the lessons, challenges and turning points that shaped how they lead today. Their insights covered business ownership, personal growth, confidence, decision-making and the importance of staying aligned with purpose while navigating change.

Rather than presenting leadership as a fixed destination, the conversation reinforced that leadership continues to evolve. It grows through experience, challenge, self-awareness and the willingness to lead in a way that is both effective and authentic.

Creating Space for Connection

A key part of the Leading Ladies Lunch was the opportunity for guests to connect with other women in business across a range of industries and professional backgrounds.

The event brought together business owners, executives, emerging leaders and professionals in a setting designed to encourage genuine conversation. It allowed guests to step away from the day-to-day demands of work and engage with others who are also building, leading and contributing in their own fields.

For Verity Consulting Partners, these events are an important part of creating practical and purposeful business communities. The Leading Ladies Lunch was not only about inspiration, but also about strengthening relationships and encouraging valuable conversations that continue beyond the event itself.

Why Events Like This Matter

Women in leadership continue to play a critical role in shaping stronger businesses, better workplace cultures and more resilient professional communities.

Events such as the Leading Ladies Lunch provide a platform to share experience, challenge assumptions and support more open conversations about what leadership requires in today’s environment.

They also remind us that leadership is not about fitting into a narrow mould. It is about developing the confidence to lead with substance, make meaningful contributions and bring others along in the process.
